Winter Field Day 2021
Ray, KI5ALD anchors the sunny but freezing
portable set-up on Rio Rancho's west mesa.
Plenty of PSK31 activity on 20 & 40 meters.
Here are some pictures from the day. Pictures were taken by Yul Bratcher, WA5YUL. David Ham, N6SIK, Becky Ham, N6TYT and Yul Bratcher joined Ed Pocchia, KC2LM and Ray Loomis, KF2ALD at their site on the west side of the river. They were set up in a dirt parking lot out on Southern.
Except for the cold wind, it was a great location. Even though it was a sunny day, the wind chill really made it uncomfortable after an hour.
David Mackenzie, KI5GYE joined us also with his set up. He was trying to work sideband and this was his first field day. His radio set up was very efficient but he had antenna issues.
